Snowboard Reviews Home > Snowboard Gear The essential snowboard gearThere is a ton of snowboard gear out on the market today, most of which is not very essential to your everyday snowboarding needs. However, there a few pieces of snowboard gear The first on our list of essential snowboard gear is goggles. Although some people might say that goggles aren't very necessary, there are more that say once you've worn goggles, you'll never go back. Goggles offer protection from harmful UV rays that reflect from the snow as well as protection from wind and snow so that you ride fast and still clearly see where you are going. Having a good pair of goggles isn't only for show, but also for the protection of yourself and others around you. The next item on our list of essential snowboard gear is gloves. This may seem like a no-brainer, but there are still people who feel that snowboarding gloves are a waste of money and don't invest in them. Gloves are essential to making your riding experience comfortable and safe for your hands. A nice pair of well insulated waterproof gloves will last you at least a few years and so they are well worth the money. Last on our list of essential snowboard gear is the stomp pad. We've all had the embarrassing experience of getting off a chair lift and not being able to control our boards with only one foot attached to the binding. Usually this is because we want to turn but can't get a good grip of our board with the back foot because of the slippery surface of the board. This is where the stomp pad comes in. A stomp pad is a small piece of plastic or rubber placed near the rear binding to provide your foot with some traction so that you can control your board as you get off of the lift. Stomp pads are a small investment in preventing you from humiliating yourself. This concludes our short list of essential snowboard gear.
